Griffin™ Linear 5-L Series
Midwave Infrared Camera Core (MWIR)
The Attollo Griffin™ 5-L Series MWIR camera cores include the Griffin™ VGA5-L (640 × 512) and Griffin™ HD5-L (1280 × 1024), featuring the industry’s smallest Mid-Wave Infrared (MWIR) sensors designed to enable extremely compact cryocooled infrared imaging systems. Utilizing Attollo Engineering’s HOT Type-II Superlattice (T2SL) detector technology, the Griffin™ 5-L Series captures high-resolution snapshot MWIR imagery with exceptional sensitivity and performance.
With an ultra-small 5 µm pixel pitch, these MWIR sensors allow more pixels on target when paired with shorter focal length optics, helping reduce overall sensor size while maintaining high image quality. The Griffin™ 5-L Series incorporates a linear cooler design, providing a short optical axis length and improved power efficiency, making it ideal for compact infrared system integration.
Both the Griffin™ VGA5-L and Griffin™ HD5-L sensors support broadband MWIR imaging and day- and night-time laser see-spot detection, expanding their capabilities for advanced targeting and surveillance applications.
Engineered for low SWaP (Size, Weight, and Power) environments, the Griffin™ 5-L Series MWIR cores offer significant system-level cost advantages compared to traditional MWIR camera solutions. With a compact 169 cm³ volume and a 340-gram weight, these linear-cooled MWIR cameras are well suited for small gimbal integration, as well as SWaP-constrained handheld, unmanned, and soldier-carried imaging systems requiring high-performance infrared sensing.
